The Icarus Safire 2 is a 9-Cell, Lightly elliptical, Zero Porosity, all-round canopy. The Safire 2 gives you a solid 9-cell performance and a modern elliptical flavour without getting radical or requiring any special attention. It is super easy to use with no hassle consistent openings, easy packing and gentle landings.

This makes the Safire’s performance suitable for a wide range of uses. It can be a modern light weight turf surfer when heavily loaded (up to 1.8 PSF) or when lightly loaded (below .8 PSF) is suitable for a first canopy or anything in between. You choose!

The Icarus Safire is a truly elliptical canopy but the shaping in it is not too heavy. The plan form shape has been optimized to increase the canopy’s performance and feel as much as possible, but not to the point of picking up any baggage normally associated with HP ellipticals. The Safires’ cells vary in width across the canopy to maintain a constant cell aspect ratio and to consistently control the airfoil shape across the canopy.
